A custom drug-data lookup tool that replaced an expensive, outdated pricing system with free federal data.
The Challenge
Kingsway Charities relied on an expensive, outdated system to look up drug data by National Drug Code. The cost kept climbing and the data kept aging, for information the federal government already publishes for free.
Kingsway Charities was paying a premium for drug data, the kind of information the federal government already publishes for free across a handful of public databases. The system they were using was expensive, dated, and harder to use than it should have been.
We built them a better one. The NDC Lookup tool takes a single National Drug Code and searches ten free federal databases at once, pulling live data from authoritative government sources like RxNorm and RxTerms. The result is a clean, fast interface that returns a complete drug profile, classification, interactions, pricing, safety, education, and more, all from one search.
The old system cost a subscription and gave them less. This one costs nothing to source, stays current automatically, and puts everything in one place.
The Outcome
A tool that does what the old system did and more, for a fraction of the cost. Kingsway Charities gets current, authoritative drug data on demand, without the subscription.
